: Chula Vista's scenic harbor offers spectacular views and easy access to southern San Diego Bay. The harbor includes two marinas, an RV park, and several restaurants. . Various sport fishing, sight-seeing and whale-watching charters operate out of Chula Vista Harbor.
The Port of San Diego, the city, Pacifica Companies and Gaylord Entertainment are working together on a billion-dollar project that will become more of an attraction to visitors and residents alike.
Plans call for a commercial harbor that offers docking space for water taxis, dinner boats, harbor cruise vessels and rental boats.
A reconfigured marina basin would also offer additional slips for private boats. Chula Vista harbor is home to two marinas with a combined 925 slips. The harbor’s close proximity to Mexico makes it a popular spot for visiting recreational vessels.
In addition to boating, the marina area features restaurants, shops and offices. “Konoids,” located at the entrance to the yacht harbor, is one of the Port’s first public art placements. The steel sculptures resembling inverted truncated cones provide a landmark for the Chula Vista waterfront. |
